Consider a meta-analysis where the studies can be classified as belonging to two or more subgroups. We might want to compute the effect size within each subgroup, and then compare these.

The mean age at baseline was 5.7 years (range 2.811.6 years), and 38% (n = 5) of the children were female. The daily survey was completed mainly by mothers (85%).
